Description:
Dashain is considered to be one of Nepal's most exciting festivals. This ten day festival includes masked dancing, kite flying and other traditional activities. The spiritual aspect of the festival includes ritual bathing in holy rivers.
The first six days of the festival are spent in private and family devotions with the last four days spent in public festivities, which start with a procession of government officials in Kathmandu. Festivities also take place in Bhaktapur and Patan.
