Kathmandu incontra Firenze [03:11]
Sunil Sakya, ex Capitano della RN Airlines e rappresentante del "SAKYA Group", nel corso di un suo viaggio in Europa in occasione del "Visit Nepal 2011" ha fatto tappa anche in Italia dove a Firenze è stato ospite del ciclo-nauta e Ambasciatore di Pace Marco Banchelli. Il Signor Sakya, nella sua veste di vice-presidente del Viola Club Kathmandu, ha incontrato ufficialmente il Presidente del CONI e Consigliere Regionale Eugenio Giani, da anni al fianco di Banchelli nei suoi viaggi-missione in bicicletta. Oltre a riprendere un progetto del 2004 dove, insieme alla "Caritas" fiorentina, fu lanciata l'idea di stringere un "Patto di Fratellanza" tra le città di Firenze e Kathmandu, Sakya e Banchelli hanno colto l'occasione per ribadire anche quello che in fondo è l'obiettivo primario del Viola Club "più alto del mondo": promuovere lo sport ed il turismo responsabile come strumenti di sviluppo e pace. Al termine dell'incontro, avvenuto sotto lo splendido porticato di Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Eugenio Giani è divenuto l' aderente al Viola Club Kathmandu n° 333.
