Nepal with Children [13:59]
Trekking with children in Himalaya is possible? There's a recurrent misjudgement about it saying children are very sensitive to high altitude, at least in our case that's not true: they loved it! No problems up to about 4000m. We extensively trekked and climbed in the Himalaya before having children for pleasure and professional reasons, now we know next time we'll have to spend a few months in high altitude our children will happily come too...

Отрывки из стихотворения Мергена Челтанова ***С 10 по 27 октября 2005г. пять представителей из природных парков и некоммерческих организаций (FSDA и «Тенгри») Республики Алтай побывали вблизи самой высокой точки мира г.Эверест (индийское название - Сагарматха, тибетское название -- Джомолунгма) в Непале в рамках научно-образовательной экспедиции "Алтай-Гималаи". Двухнедельный пеший маршрут экспедиции длиной в 120 км. пролегал на высоте более 3000 и 4000 метров гималайских гор по живописной долине Кумбу, где проживает горное население народности шерпа. Основной целью экспедиции было изучение практического опыта в создании и управлении особо охраняемыми природными территориями (ООПТ) в горном регионе Непал с вовлечением местного населения на примере Национального Парка "Сагарматха" и его буферной территории. Три участника экспедиции с Алтая поднялись до высоты «Кала-Паттар» (на уровне базового лагеря, 5545 метров над уровнем моря), на 5545м. ближе к Эвересту, к крыше мира. This is the point where I finally reached Annapurna Base Camp, some 4000 metres high up in the Himalays in Nepal. Possibly the longest but most beautiful trek (10 days) I have ever done. The journey was simply epic!!!

This video is a old documentary about Nepal in the 50's . Tony Hagen was the first foreigner to trek Nepal on behalf of United Nations for geological survey. He has clocked more than 14000 km of trekking in Nepal . He died in early 2003 but we all remember what he did to Nepal. He was a true hero and a pioneer. Nepal should never forget his contributions.
