Nepali Critical Care Nurse speaks about nursing [01:26]
I taught a group of fifteen BN students from LNC, a version of my critical care nursing class, here in Kathmandu Nepal. This was a very interactive group, and we had fun while learning. This student has several years of ICU experience and I would match her knowledge against an American ICU nurse anytime. A joy to have such persons in this class.

The whole point of my training is to develop skills in critical care nursing assessment and response. We use materials from the AMerican Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocols, the fundamentals of critical care response. I first taught this stuff in 1981. The team is presented with a challenge and minimal information and must react. Now, this is an "outtake -" I have better examples that are longer and successful, but technical problems prevented me from uploading them. But you get the idea. In USA we do this over and over with new nurses; in Nepal we do this over and over with new nurses. It's the only path to adulthood - becoming a "grownup" in critical care.
