Mother tigeress eating prey with her cub - Shot through night vision camera [01:10]
The tiger (Panthera tigris) is the largest cat species, reaching a total body length of up to 3.3 metres (11 ft) and weighing up to 306 kg (670 lb). It is the third largest land carnivore (behind only the Polar bear and the Brown bear). Its most recognizable feature is a pattern of dark vertical stripes on reddish-orange fur with lighter underside. It has exceptionally stout teeth, and the canines are the longest among living felids with a crown height of as much as 74.5 mm (2.93 in) or even 90 mm (3.5 in). In zoos, tigers have lived for 20 to 26 years, which also seems to be their longevity in the wild. They are territorial and generally solitary but social animals, often requiring large contiguous areas of habitat that support their prey requirements. This, coupled with the fact that they are indigenous to some of the more densely populated places on Earth, has caused significant conflicts with humans. Tigers are among the most recognisable and popular of the world's charismatic megafauna. They have featured prominently in ancient mythology and folklore, and continue to be depicted in modern films and literature. Tigers appear on many flags, coats of arms, and as mascots for sporting teams. The Bengal tiger is the national animal of Bangladesh and India. The Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris tigris), also called the Indian tiger, lives in India, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh, and is the most common subspecies with populations estimated at less than 2500 adult individuals. Nepal : Poon Hill Trek - Day 2 Part 1 [15:01]
The short 5 day Poon Hill trek is perfect for first time travelers to Nepal. This trek starts at Nayapul and takes you through local villages and the Nepalese jungle all the way to Ghorepani which lies at an altitude of 2860m. From there you can trek up to the Poon Hill ticket office to access to Poon Hill which is at a height of 3163m. ****************************************************************************************************** ****************************************************************************************************** About the uploads. This is day 2 because I only took a small amount of footage during the trip from Kathmandu to Pokara which I thought wasn't very good. Most of the footage of the trekking path will be from a returning perspective on day 4 and day 5 as I found it easier to take more footage coming down then going up. Most of the footage during this trek may be shaky because I forgot to turn on the image stabilizer that comes with my camera. I have tried fixing this using the ProDAD mercalli plugin but I was still not happy with the results from that. If you do have any suggestions for better video stabilization please post a comment below.
