Nepal: getting around/site seeing [07:29]
The streets of Nepal can be difficult to navigate as a driver and dangerous for pedestrians as crossing through traffic means dodging rickshaws, scooter, motorcycles, cars and trucks. It's all so surreal, lively, and exciting, but LOOKOUT! and pay attention to those horns.
Nepal 1971 [15:18]
In 1971, Kathmandu was still an almost medieval city with no cars and few visitors. In the mountains, the only people we met were local hill people returning from Kathmandu to their villages. (In the early 1970s I backpacked through Thailand, Burma, Nepal, northern India and Afghanistan with a small 8mm film camera. Since I could only carry a limited amount of film stock, the films in this series are only about 15 minutes long but still, I hope, manage to give a sense of the richness of the local culture and landscape.)

Through Katmandu by Bike [17:07]
Going to the National Park, first we need to leave Katmandu city, it was the first challenge... We cannot think about mountains, Himalayas, trees, forest and anything of it yet, until we really can leave behind us the jungle of: cows, dogs, bicycles, motor bikes, cars, trucks, monkeys, goatsm chickens and more and more... ahh, of course thousands and thousands of people...
