Rudolph Bungy-Jumps at Last Resort in Nepal.VOB [03:28]
Wednesday(16-11-2011):- Finally did the ultimate "Adrenaline Junkie Jump" by "Bungy-Jumping at the "Last Resort" in Nepal .The "Last Resort" is located about 100 Kms from Kathmandu, approx a three hour journey by a long and winding road amidst hills and the Bhote Khosi river..Bhote Kosi river bungy jumping has been described as the 'ultimate experience' in Bungy jumping ranked amongst the 10 best in the World in 2012.The valley is narrow with steep hillsides towering over 2000 metres (6600 ft) from the river. The Last Resort is 160 metres (520 ft) above a gorge with the river raging below. It is 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) from the Nepal-Tibet border.Bungee jumping at the Last Resort is one of the longest in the world. It is higher than the highest bungee in the New Zealand.[After leaping from the bridge platform, the bungee jumper has a free fall towards the river before the swing lines take up the tension and he enters a large, semicircular arc of about 240 metres (790 ft). When it opened in 1999, the Last Resort was amongst the highest suspension footbridges in the world.Swiss designed, especially for bungee jumping with a 4x safety factor, the bridge will hold 4.5 tonnes. Over 6000 metres (20000 ft) of steel wire was used to build the longest suspension bridge in Nepal. "Bhote Koshi" means "River from Tibet" and the "Last Resort" is a must visit on any tourist itinerary even if not a crazy "BUNGY JUMPER"?This video was produced by me through the "Last Resort" movie ...

Bahal courtyard near ason tole [00:26]
Just off Ason Tole in Kathmandu. One of the amazing things about urban design in Nepal is the "Bahal" which is a sort of neighborhood. In the other videos of Old Kathmandu you get a sense of the vibrant crowded street life. In truth, there are many courtyards nearby such as this one - a place sequestered from traffic. Often an oasis of calm, and you don't see them unless you stoop through a low door and look in. Traditionally, each property owner facing such a square was a member of the community and the entire city was organized this way.

Nepal - Week 6: Lost Camera Dejavu [04:39]
You might recall I misplaced my camera and recovered it the next day, resulting in some awesome extra bonus footage. That time, it was totally my fault for leaving it in the restaurant. This time, it was either taken from me on the bus to work or misplaced around the house (with the first seeming more likely). ANYWAYS, back to the video: Aside from work, we haven't been doing much in an attempt to save money for our EPIC safari/trekking trip that will begin on this coming friday. We did go to Bhaktapur, a very old traditional city in the Katmandu Valley, famous for its pottery, woodworking, and curds...so we, of course, got french fries. A lot of my original prototypes returned to me, but what is more difficult to show is the progress Megan and Stephanie have been making with their designs, since they have just started screening them onto fabrics in the past two days in a room separate from where I have been working. Soon to come: Trekking, elephant rides, Megan and Stephanie's designs, and a new camera (unfortunately).

Youth Engagement in Positive Development Activities [04:39]
During the post-election period in Nepal, when ethnic based identity issues were arising and plenty of youth were getting engaged in activities of violence and conflict, USAID/ Nepal supported the production of seven 5-minute documentaries highlighting the positive role of youth and their contributions to promoting development in their communities. This case study focuses on the organizations like 'Dalit Utthan Kendra' of Bara district and 'Shanti Samaj' of Makwanpur district that mobilized youth in their districts to constructively engage in positive activities benefitting their communities. The youth involved were engaged in identifying, designing and implementing their own programs based on the needs of the community. USAID also supported in airing this program through national television channels conveying the message of positive engagement of youth and their contribution to the peace process.
