Nepal 2004 - with my Dad [05:06]
My trip to Nepal, with my old man in 2004. We trekked up to Everest Base Camp, went on Safari in the Chitwan National Park, White Water Rafting, and discovered Kathmandu. An unbelievable 4 weeks together, experiencing all that Nepal had to offer, fantastic meals, crazy traffic, slower pace, friendly loving locals - and a few nights celebrating with them.

Trekking au Dolpo [04:22]
Le trekking du Dolpo et du lac Phoksumdo est un trek au coeur de la culture Tibétaine. Jusqu'au 19ème siècle une partie du Dolpo était une provinve du Tibet. Depuis Kathmandu, c'est en avion que nous rejoindrons le Dolpo. La première partie du trekking jusqu'à Dho se déroule en fond de vallée le long d'un torrent. C'est la route qui conduit au Tibet et qu'emprunte les Yaks qui transportent les marchandises que Népalais et Tibétains se vendent ou s'échangent. Puis de Dho à High Camp on découvre les grands espaces désertiques limitrophes du Tibet. Ensuite c'est la partie montagne ou plutôt altitude qui nous fait traverser les cols du Num La et de Basia La à plus de 5000 m. Arrive le bouquet final avec le lac Phoksumdo à Ringmo. Altitude max 5200 m. Acclimatation régulière. Le trekking se déroule sous tente. Les étapes du trekking du Dolpo sont comprises entre 3 et 7 heures.

Located in a lovely little hill rock Swayambhunath Stupa middle of city is one of the most fascinating architectural jewels of the world. This great Stoup is said to have been built around 250 BC Generally a holy memorial site Stoup represents a typical Buddhist architecture. Its main feature the white dome is identified with a spotless pure jewel of Nirvana and a thirteen tiered golden spire in conical shape surmounted on the dome. Underneath this towering structure are a pair of all seeing eyes of Buddha painted on all four sides of the Stupa. The Stupa of Swayambhunath stands on a typically stylized lotus mandala base-a long time ago believed to have originated from a legendary lake of Kathmandu Valley. Kathmandu is the capital of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal and headquarter centre of 14 administrative zones of Nepal. Not only is Kathmandu the economic hub of Nepal, it is the cultural and tourism capital of the country. The history of Nepal can be dated back to nearly 2000 years AD. The city is the nucleus of Kathmandu Valley in the Himalayas, which includes two sister cities called Lalitpur and Bhaktapur/Bhadgaon. The UNESCO has inferred these three cities as "Kathmandu Valley-UNESCO World Heritage Site" as one unit. Dai Saharawi all'Himalaya con un Augurio (e DESIDERIO!) di Libertà e Pace [04:58]
Alla vigilia del nuovo anno "2012" si rinnova l'AUGURIO (e l'intensità del DESIDERIO). Anche e soprattutto per le lotte e le sofferenze di tutti i giorni... Allora era la fine anno 1999... Il nuovo millennio bussava... Dal TG Rai della Toscana un servizio "incrociato" con "Uno Mattina" di RAI 1, sfiorando RAI-Isoradio Il ciclo-nauta Marco Banchelli porta un po' della vicenda del Popolo Saharawi in Himalaya, affiancandola a quella del Popolo Tibetano... Il Nepal, con la sacra piramide del Machhapuchhre, la Chiesa di Patan con Padre Sharma e Sister Deepa, la stanza della "piccola ex-dea vivente Rasmila e la splendida Bhaktapur, fanno come da cornice al servizio ed al susseguirsi di ricordi ed emozioni. E le "voci": il lancio di Walter Daviddi per Frida Zampella fino alla cara Paola Saluzzi... ed il SOGNO del PONTE dell'AMICIZIA che sembra continuare anche con le note di "Desiderio di Pace" che mai come adesso ognuno dovrebbe fare proprie... almeno provarci... almeno un po'... E c'è chi ancora pensa che sia sempre solamente un "caso"...

Nepal... [05:15]
This video is a collection of lots of pictures that I have taken. Some of the pictures were downloaded from internet. There are little clips of videos about Nepal, too. Hopefully, it depicts all the three regions (Himalayan, Hilly and Terai regions) of Nepal, and most of the important places. This is a very fast paced videos and has no repeating pictures. Yeah, it took me a lot of time to make this one, and thus it is one of my favorite videos.
