Amazing Annapurna Circuit Thorong La Pass, Nepal [03:53]
18 days trek around the Annapurna mountain range, pass the highest point on the Annapurna Circuit, Thorong La. The trail passes along paddy fields and into subtropical forests, several waterfalls and gigantic cliffs, and various villages. It combined a wide variety of climate zones from tropics at 600m to the arctic at 5416m at the Thorong La pass and cultural variety from Hindu villages at the low foothills to the Tibetan culture of Manang Valley and lower Mustang. A very good experience, enjoy the video..
Working on the rice paddy [02:18]
On our way from Pokhara in western Nepal to Chitwan National Park in southern Nepal, we stopped at a rice farm and lent a helping hand. We joined a group of women who were pulling rice stalks to later be replanted in a rice paddy. We didn't know the first thing about growing rice, but we gave it our best shot.

Plowing a rice paddy [02:46]
On our way from Pokhara in western Nepal to Chitwan National Park in southern Nepal, we stopped at a rice farm and lent a helping hand. We jumped behind pairs of water buffalo and attempted to plow the mud in the rice paddy. It was lots of fun, but I don't think we cut out to be rice farmers.

Sangkhu Nepal rice cultivation July 2011 [00:48]
Sangkhu is in the eastern Kathmandu Valley and is a nice little Newari town, serene. The hike to the tmeple goes through an area of rice paddies. I filmed a greeting to my daughters in 2007 from there - here is the 2011 update. When they were little and I taught at UMA we spent part of each summer day gardening - both vegetables and flowers. there is nothing more rewarding than to garden with kids.
