The Beauty Contest for the 9th Nepal Elephant Festival held its final round on Friday. Three elephants competed for the award by showcasing their appearance and intelligence levels. 20-year-old Aar Mohammad is bathing his elephant Pinkey in the Rapti River, as the final round of the beauty contest is in a few hours. Pinkey is one of the three elephants that got into the final round of the beauty contest, and Aar is the man who discovered her beauty and intelligence. SOUNDBITE (NEPALI): AAR MOHAMMAD, Mahout "I came here early this morning because today is the beauty contest. Let's see if she can win it.' Aar takes Pinkey to her hut after a 15-minute walk from the Rapti River. Our Experience in Nepal [03:44]
We started our journey from Shillong on 12th of September 2012. It was a wonderful experience to go to a foreign land in our own Scorpio car, but at-last, our Nepal tour ended up in a big car crashed on 20th of September 2012. We enjoyed a lot and at last gained pain. My femur got fractured in two place, Jesse got a muscle damage and Wilseng got cuts on the face. Still I'm bed ridden after 2 months though surgery was done in Solace Hospital, Goalpara on 22nd of September 2012.

Present on the occasion were Presidents of Everest Association of Nepal, NRN, France, Nepali Ekata Samaj, Secretary of Maison Culture du Nepal, Officials of Tamu Samaj and Pakofen, long term residents, painter, UNESCO Professional, Businessmen, Travel agents, Nepali nationals married to French nationals and other guests from different walks of life. Likewise, Nepali students pursuing higher education in French Universities and foreign students also participated in the program with enthusiasm. About 350 guests attended the function.
