Fish Tail Lodge [01:23]
The Fish Tail Lodge is situated on a peninsula, with Fewa Lake on the entrance side, and a forest-covered hill(Raniban) at the rear. It is almost like staying on a private island. Guests are transported to the Lodge on a shuttle-float. This property used to belong to the royal family, and it has hosted world leaders, royalty and heads of government -- Prince Charles, Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan, former US President Jimmy Carter and former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. Currently, all profits generated by Fish Tail Lodge are donated to the Princess Jayanti Memorial Trust. The Trust provides free cardiac care to underprivileged Nepalese people and conducts various programmes to raise public awareness regarding the causes of heart diseases in Nepal.
