Nepal : Poon Hill Trek - Day 2 Exploring Hille [14:51]
We stopped at Hille for the night staying wiht some of Binodi's friends Elyssa and Sicilla. I decided to explore the village, relax and see where the next section of the trail led to. I was also informed that up in the hills behind the village was an area which may contain wild monkeys, unfortunately it was in a restricted area that is off limits to tourists and also the monkeys are afraid of humans so there was no chance of filming them.

(2009, Avril). Himalayan shamanism: A nepalese jungle retreat. This was a 7 days retreat with nepali (tamang) shamans including 2 of my gurus. During this week, we barely slept because night was totally dedicated to practice (prayer, dancing, singing, etc.). Day time, villagers came for blessings and guidance. It is at that time, that I started to understand what "seeing" meant after a 2 years stay in Nepal. Exhaustion did not allow for any more rational-linear thinking but because of the sacred set and setting, bursts of spiritual understanding ("right brain w-holy systemic glimpses") could naturally come through. These traditions are still connected to the roots of Earth and Sky. The Big Bang is actualised through the trance itself for Creation is an ever going process. Contrary to religion, if the ritual is quiet strict and protocolarized, what is being experienced inside it is quiet open, if not totally, according to the "merits" of the ...
Trekking in Nepal: Lukla to Namche Bazaar [03:51]
October 16 -18, 2012. Part One of our trek in the Mt Everest Region of Nepal. We took an afternoon flight from Kathmandu to the village of Lukla, which has the only airport in the region. Landing at Lukla is a dramatic event....but that's another story. Our first day trekking took us through several villages on a level and slightly downhill trail to Phakding, where we spent the night. The next day we crossed the Dudh Kosi river four times and then made a steep climb up to the large and well-known village of Namche Bazaar. Our next day was a rest day, but quite memorable, thanks to a short hike to the ridge above town to get our first glimpse of 8000+ meter peaks of Everest and Lhotse, along with the lesser summits of Nuptse and Ama Dablam. (Note: for best viewing, set the quality to 720p or "Original".)
