Tamang Heritage Trail "Having left Pokhara and the intention to cross back into India, we suddenly changed our minds and stomped on down to the Immigration office in Kathmandu and got our VISA's renewed for another 2 weeks. This having been the contributing factor in finishing early at the orphanage has made us feel bitter sweet... but when it came down to it neither of us wanted to leave Nepal... well not quite yet! So, very spontaneously we decided on doing another trek!... And all by ourselves this time- no porter or guide, just us, our bags, boots and a map. ... I know- very unlike Jo and I, exercise out of our own free will and I hold my hands up to not having the best navigational skills in the world, goodness knows how we thought we'd do it but optimism prevailed and we went off on our merry little way. Until... the bus journey- how we actually thought we'd survive is upto the gods, we prayed like we've never prayed before.! The road to Langtang is just awful, bumpy and rickety but most of it resides on cliff edge roads and hair pin bends with oh only 1000-2000 meter drops below.! We were extremely grateful when the bus came to a halt, 8 white knuckle hours after setting off, and depositing our shaky bodies in Dunche, a little town on the outskirts of Langtang National Park ...
