18 days trek around the Annapurna mountain range, pass the highest point on the Annapurna Circuit, Thorong La. The trail passes along paddy fields and into subtropical forests, several waterfalls and gigantic cliffs, and various villages. It combined a wide variety of climate zones from tropics at 600m to the arctic at 5416m at the Thorong La pass and cultural variety from Hindu villages at the low foothills to the Tibetan culture of Manang Valley and lower Mustang. Trekking in Nepal: Namche Bazaar to Dzonglha via Renjo La and Cho La. [05:37]
October 19 -- 24, 2012. Part Two of our trek in the Mt Everest Region of Nepal. We made our way from Namche Bazaar up the Bhote Koshi river valley to Thame, and then to Lungdhen were we took an acclimatization day. From there, we climbed the Renjo La pass (5360 m; 17585 ft) and were treated to stunning views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and associated peaks. Then down to Gokyo Lake and village, and the next day a short hike over to Thangnag (Dragnag). On Oct 24, we made early start up the Cho La pass (5368 m; 17611 ft), and then over a small glacier and a steep hike down. We ended the day at Dzonglha, a very small village with a stunning view of the north face of Cholatse (6335 m; 20784 ft).
