Amanda Dorough: STA World Traveler Intern 2010

I am a world traveler. Seeing new places and meeting new people is my life and I love sharing what I have seen and learned with anyone who will listen. I've spent the last 2 years teaching english in Thailand. Through that I've been able to immerse myself in the culture and truly understand another way of thinking. I've also become pretty skilled at the art of haggling, learned how to drive and crash a motorbike and become a pro at dealing with unfortunate situations. Aside from Thailand I've been to 18 other countries on 4 continents. I've surfed in Bali, spent 2 weeks hiking the Everest Trail where I got to see Mount Everest up close, explored the ruins of Angkor Wat, built houses in Mexico, 5 times, and sailed around the world with Semester at Sea. I've worked on tight travel schedules but I also know how it feels to pack up your backpack and jump out with no plan. Now I know what you're thinking, why didn't you say that in the video? I wanted the pictures and videos to speak for themselves. This world is an incredible place and sometimes it takes a picture to truly express how incredible it is. I blog, I photograph and I make videos. It's my life whether it's my job or not. I simply want to experience the world for myself and then convince everyone else to do it too. I am EVERYTHING the STA World Traveler Intern is.
