Interview with Director of Tansen Mission Hospital, part TWO
Mission Hospital has about 160 beds and serves a wide area of rural Nepal. It takes ten hours to get there overland from Kathmandu, and the NGO operates a regular shuttle between the two. Tansen, where it is located, is a beautiful small city, on a scenic hill. The hospital is the oldest project of United Missions to Nepal, dating back to before the country was opened to westerners in 1953. The Missionary Community is well-established, and includes such things as a school, for Missionaries who wish to serve but also have a family including school-aged children. Dr Rachel Karrach describes the needs.
