Langtang Region Langtang Region, is toward north of the Kathmandu valley. The scenry here is spectacular, and the trek more adventurous as the area is visited by fewer tourists. To the west of Langtang is Ganesh Himal with a range of 6000 to 7000m. The main ethnic groups living here are Sherpas and Tamang. The forste in region have temperate and sub-alpine vegetation. Wildlife includes migratory birds, deer, monkeys, Red panda, Black bear, Himalayan Thar, Lophophorusand pika. The best time for trekking in the Langtang is spring and autumn. Most of the trekking routes in Hulambu and Langtang are well served with teahouse making independent trekking quite possible. But, there are no such facilities in the Ganesh Himal area or Ganja La area. The Special Himalayan Langtang valley, a narrow valley that lies just south of the Tibetan border which is well known for Himalayan adventure and small easy trek. To the north, the valley is bounded between the main Himalayan range and a bit of lower range of snowy peaks to the south. The mountain LangtangLirung (7250m) direct the valley to the north; Gang Chhenpo (6390m) and NayaKangri (5850m) lie to the south following DorjeLakpa (6970m) to protect valley to the east.
