Nepal Embassy Paris, Dashian Program 2012 Part-2

The Embassy of Nepal in Paris organized a Vijaya Dashami 2069 B.S. festival celebration last night, Sunday, 28 October 2012 at the Maison Alfort. Present on the occasion were Presidents of Everest Association of Nepal, NRN, France, Nepali Ekata Samaj, Secretary of Maison Culture du Nepal, Officials of Tamu Samaj and Pakofen, long term residents, painter, UNESCO Professional, Businessmen, Travel agents, Nepali nationals married to French nationals and other guests from different walks of life. Likewise, Nepali students pursuing higher education in French Universities and foreign students also participated in the program with enthusiasm. About 350 guests attended the function. Ambassador of Nepal to France and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO His Excellency Mr. Mohan Krishna Shrestha initiated the Pooja and offered "Tika and Jamara" and Madame Sajana Shrestha offered "Prasad" to the guests. Delivering his welcome remarks, Ambassador Shrestha said that Embassy is pleased to organize the program to exchange greeting and to wish for good health, happiness and prosperity. Ambassador Shrestha said that naturally beautiful Nepal is like a garden composed of multi-ethnic, multi- cultural and multi-linguistic people and they harbor unity amidst diversity in many areas. To live and let live in co-existence is the hall mark of the Nepalese people and their warm hospitality is well known. During last few years, Nepal has seen enormous changes in the political, social and economic fields; Ambassador Shrestha said that with abundant natural resources, Nepal is poised for speedy economic development in coming days. Highlighting on the age-old friendship between Nepal and France, Ambassador Shrestha expressed his view that the bilateral relations between the two countries will continue to achieve new heights in coming days. On Nepal promotional programs, he informed that a total of 41 programs have been accomplished during last 28 months and with cooperation from Mayor's offices, in some programs, budgets have been halved and those proved to the most effective. Guests appreciated the lively environment in the hall, enjoyed Nepali dishes and danced to Nepali tunes. Foreign guests also danced with Nepali guests to enjoy Dashain festivity. Local singer Bhuwan Adhikari sanged several popular Nepali songs to the delight of the guests. Guests thanked the Embassy for organizing such an enthusiastic and lively program to promote Nepali culture and solidarity among the people. Program lasted about 4 hours.
