Sightseeing at Boudhanath Stupa

This colossal and ancient Stupa, one of the biggest in the world, has the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. Lichchhavi King Man Dev built it; in the fifth century AD. There are no definite indications about the age of the stupa. The bones of Kashyapa Buddha who preceded Gautam Buddha are said to be contained in the Stupa. It is also possible that this Stupa was constructed after the introduction of Buddhism in Tibet when relations between Nepal and Tibet were close.However, an earlier Stupa at the site constructed around 5th century could have been renovated few centuries later in 7th or 8th centuries when Tibet was converted to Buddhism.Visit these blog for more information:
